PINEAPPLE JUICE CROP UPDATES - Q4 2024

Thailand: Delayed but Promising

Thailand’s Winter crop faces delays due to sustained droughts, but production is expected to recover by February 2025. Despite a backlog of orders, Thai producers are prioritising shipments to meet global demand.

The slightly higher production of fruit over the past month has allowed raw material prices to ease to THB12.00 – 12.50/kg, from THB14.00 – 15.00/kg last month.

Production was forecasted to reach only 650,000 to 750,000 MT in 2024, a significant decline from the over 2 million MT produced a few years ago. However, production is expected to improve next year, and industry sources noted the first signs of optimism from Thai producers at the recent SIAL food fair.

Global Outlook

With supplies tight in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Costa Rica and production levels far below historic highs, pineapple juice remains one of the most sought-after commodities on the global market.
