GRAPE JUICE CROP UPDATES - Q1 2025

Argentina

The 2025 grape crop in Argentina begins in March, though recent hailstorms have affected plantations. Despite this, production is expected to reach 2.0-2.2 million MT, consistent with typical output. The government quota for juice grapes remains unclear, but a minimum of 25% is expected for the juice sector. Offers for white concentrate are USD 1,650-1,750/MT (68 brix, FOB Buenos Aires). Exports of grape juice concentrate more than doubled in 2024, reaching 82,500 MT. Local producers are closely monitoring US tariffs on apple juice concentrate, which may impact pricing.

Europe

Spain’s 2024 grape production is 17% higher than last year but still below the 10-year average. Prices for white grape juice concentrate are EUR 1,950-2,050/MT (65 brix, exfactory Spain), with firm demand expected to maintain these levels. Italy’s 2024 production was below average, and strong demand for rectified grape must has strained the market. White grape juice concentrate from Italy is priced at EUR 2,000+/MT (65 brix, ex-factory). Prices are expected to remain firm until the new crop begins in September.

Exports Forecast

Argentina’s grape juice concentrate exports are expected to remain strong, following a significant increase in 2024. European demand is also expected to keep prices firm as the new crop approaches.
